About Mailcheck
Mailcheck is an email verification service that checks whether an email address is valid, deliverable, and safe to send to before you actually send anything. It catches typos (like ‘gmial.com’), identifies disposable or temporary email addresses, and flags addresses that are likely to bounce — all through a simple API call or bulk upload.
For any business running email campaigns, a dirty list is expensive. High bounce rates damage your sender reputation with email providers like Google and Microsoft, which means even your legitimate emails start landing in spam. Mailcheck helps prevent this by validating addresses before they enter your mailing list or CRM in the first place.
In n8n, Mailcheck works well as a validation step in lead capture and data processing workflows. When a new contact submits a form on your website, an n8n workflow can instantly verify the email via the Mailcheck API before creating the CRM record. If the address is invalid or disposable, the workflow can reject it or flag it for review instead of letting bad data pollute your database. You can also run bulk verification on existing lists by looping through contacts and updating their status based on Mailcheck results.
If you are dealing with poor email deliverability or want to clean up your contact database, our automated data processing services can help you build verification workflows that keep your email lists accurate and your sender reputation healthy.

How it works
We work hand-in-hand with you to implement Mailcheck
As Mailcheck consultants we work with you hand in hand build more efficient and effective operations. Here’s how we will work with you to automate your business and integrate Mailcheck with integrate and automate 800+ tools.
Step 1
Get your Mailcheck API key
Sign up at mailcheck.ai and retrieve your API key from the dashboard. This key is used to authenticate requests from n8n. Add it as a credential or store it in n8n’s environment variables so it can be referenced across multiple workflows without being hardcoded into each one.
Step 2
Set up the verification trigger
Decide where email verification fits in your workflow. For real-time verification, use a webhook node that receives form submissions. For batch cleaning, use a Schedule Trigger that runs daily or weekly. For CRM hygiene, trigger on new contact creation events from your CRM’s webhook or API polling.
Step 3
Call the Mailcheck API
Add an HTTP Request node pointing to the Mailcheck verification endpoint. Pass the email address as a parameter. The API returns a JSON response with the verdict (valid, invalid, risky, disposable), the domain details, and a risk score. For bulk workflows, loop through your contact list and call the API for each address.
Step 4
Route based on verification result
Add an IF or Switch node to branch your workflow based on Mailcheck’s verdict. Valid emails proceed to your CRM or mailing list. Invalid and disposable emails are rejected or logged. Risky emails (catch-all domains) can be routed to a separate list for cautious sending or manual review, depending on your risk tolerance.
Step 5
Update your CRM or email platform
For verified-valid emails, create or update the contact in your CRM with a ‘verified’ tag and timestamp. For invalid emails in existing records, update the status to suppress them from future campaigns. This keeps your marketing platform clean and protects your sender domain reputation from unnecessary bounces.
Step 6
Set up ongoing list hygiene
Email addresses go stale over time as people change jobs or abandon mailboxes. Schedule a recurring n8n workflow that re-verifies your active contact list monthly or quarterly. Flag any addresses that have changed status since the last check, and automatically suppress newly invalid contacts from your active campaigns.
