About Embeddings Google PaLM
The Embeddings Google PaLM node in n8n generates vector embeddings using Google’s PaLM (Pathways Language Model) embedding models. While Google has since released newer Gemini models, PaLM embeddings remain available and are still used in production workflows that were built on the PaLM API. This node converts text into dense vector representations that capture semantic meaning, enabling similarity search, clustering, and retrieval-augmented generation within your n8n pipelines.
If your organisation adopted Google’s PaLM API early and has existing vector collections built with PaLM embeddings, this node ensures compatibility. Switching embedding models mid-project means re-indexing your entire document collection, so there is real value in maintaining consistency with the model you originally used for indexing. The PaLM embeddings produce reliable vectors for most common use cases including document search, FAQ matching, and content recommendation.
For new projects, you may want to evaluate the newer Gemini embedding models alongside PaLM, as Google continues to improve embedding quality and reduce costs with each generation. However, PaLM remains a solid choice for teams with established pipelines that are working well.
Whether you are maintaining an existing PaLM-based system or evaluating your options for a new build, our custom AI development team can help you make the right architectural decisions. We have built RAG pipelines across multiple embedding providers and can advise on trade-offs between migration effort and performance gains.

How it works
We work hand-in-hand with you to implement Embeddings Google PaLM
As Embeddings Google PaLM consultants we work with you hand in hand build more efficient and effective operations. Here’s how we will work with you to automate your business and integrate Embeddings Google PaLM with integrate and automate 800+ tools.
Step 1
Obtain Google PaLM API Access
Set up a Google Cloud account and enable the PaLM API. Generate an API key through Google AI Studio or the Cloud Console. If you already have PaLM access from a previous project, you can reuse your existing credentials.
Step 2
Configure Credentials in n8n
Add a new Google PaLM credential in your n8n credentials store using your API key. This credential authenticates all PaLM embedding requests from your workflows and can be shared across multiple nodes.
Step 3
Add the Embeddings Google PaLM Node
Find the node in the n8n editor and add it to your workflow canvas. Place it after your text source node — typically a document loader, text splitter, or input trigger that provides the content you want to embed.
Step 4
Configure Model Selection and Input Mapping
Select the PaLM embedding model and map the text input to your source data field. Ensure your text chunks are within the model’s token limit. If processing longer documents, add a text splitter node upstream to break content into appropriately sized pieces.
Step 5
Connect to Your Vector Database
Route the embedding output to a vector store node for storage or search. If you are building a new index, the vectors will be inserted. If you are querying an existing PaLM-based index, the query embedding will be matched against your stored vectors.
Step 6
Verify Consistency with Existing Indexes
If connecting to an existing vector collection, confirm that the same PaLM model version was used for indexing. Run test queries to verify that search results are accurate and relevant. Mismatched model versions can degrade retrieval quality even within the same model family.
