About MIST
Mist (now part of Juniper Networks) is a cloud-managed wireless networking platform that uses AI to monitor, optimise, and troubleshoot enterprise Wi-Fi, wired, and WAN infrastructure. Mist’s key differentiator is its AI-driven approach: the platform collects telemetry from access points and switches, analyses it with machine learning, and automatically identifies root causes of connectivity issues rather than just flagging symptoms.
For IT operations teams, the challenge with wireless infrastructure is that problems are intermittent and hard to diagnose. A user reports slow Wi-Fi, but by the time IT investigates, the issue has resolved itself. Mist’s AI engine (called Marvis) correlates events across the network to pinpoint the actual cause, whether it is a rogue AP, a DHCP failure, an interference source, or a client-side driver issue.
Integrating Mist with n8n through its REST API and webhooks lets you connect network events to your operational workflows. You can build automations that create IT support tickets when Mist detects a recurring connectivity problem, send Slack alerts when a site’s wireless health score drops, sync network asset data with your CMDB, or generate weekly network performance reports. If your IT team spends time manually monitoring network health dashboards and copying data between systems, our automated data processing services can help automate those workflows.

How it works
We work hand-in-hand with you to implement MIST
As MIST consultants we work with you hand in hand build more efficient and effective operations. Here’s how we will work with you to automate your business and integrate MIST with integrate and automate 800+ tools.
Step 1
Generate a Mist API Token
Log into the Mist dashboard at manage.mist.com. Navigate to your Organisation settings and create a new API token. Choose the appropriate scope (org-level for multi-site access). Copy the token and store it securely since Mist only shows it once at creation time.
Step 2
Set Up HTTP Request Credentials in n8n
In n8n, create a new HTTP Request credential. Set the authentication type to Bearer Token and paste in your Mist API token. This credential will be used by all Mist-related HTTP Request nodes in your workflows. Test it by making a GET request to https://api.mist.com/api/v1/self to confirm authentication.
Step 3
Build a Network Health Query Workflow
Create an n8n workflow with a Schedule Trigger. Add an HTTP Request node that calls the Mist API to retrieve site statistics or wireless health scores. For example, GET /api/v1/orgs/{org_id}/stats/sites returns health metrics for all sites. Parse the response to extract the fields you need for alerting or reporting.
Step 4
Set Up Webhook-Based Alerting (Optional)
For real-time event processing, add a Webhook trigger node in n8n and copy its URL. In the Mist dashboard, configure a webhook under Organisation > Settings > Webhooks, pointing to your n8n URL. Select the event types you want to receive, such as alarms, audits, or client sessions.
Step 5
Route Alerts to Your IT Operations Tools
Connect the processed Mist data to your team’s tools. Add a Slack node for real-time alerts when health scores drop, a Jira or ServiceNow node for automated ticket creation on recurring issues, or a Google Sheets or database node for logging historical network performance data for trend analysis.
Step 6
Test and Activate the Workflow
Run the workflow manually to verify the API calls return expected data and downstream actions work correctly. If using webhooks, trigger a test alarm in Mist and confirm n8n receives and processes it. Once validated, activate the workflow on schedule or leave the webhook trigger running for continuous monitoring.
