Tierion

About Tierion

Tierion is a blockchain-based data verification platform that creates tamper-proof timestamps and proofs for any data or document. By anchoring cryptographic hashes to public blockchains, Tierion generates verifiable proofs that a specific piece of data existed at a specific point in time — without relying on a single trusted authority. This is useful for compliance records, audit trails, and any scenario where data integrity must be independently verifiable.

Businesses generating high volumes of automated records — financial transactions, sensor readings, contract documents, medical records — face a persistent challenge: proving that data has not been altered after the fact. Tierion addresses this by creating blockchain-anchored proofs that anyone can verify using open standards. This capability is particularly relevant for organisations running automated data processing systems where records are generated and stored without manual oversight.

Tierion’s Chainpoint protocol is an open standard for creating and verifying blockchain proofs. Data is hashed locally, submitted to Tierion’s network, aggregated into a Merkle tree, and anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain. The resulting proof is a portable document that can be verified independently at any time. Teams working with custom AI development projects use this kind of verification layer when AI-generated outputs need an immutable audit trail.

For Australian organisations in regulated industries — finance, healthcare, insurance, legal — Tierion offers a way to add verifiable integrity proofs to existing workflows. When integrated into business automation pipelines, every processed document or generated record can be timestamped and anchored automatically, creating a chain of evidence that holds up to external scrutiny.

How it works

We work hand-in-hand with you to implement Tierion

Step 1

Create a Tierion Account

Sign up for Tierion and obtain API credentials. Review the Chainpoint documentation to understand how proofs are generated, anchored, and verified.

Step 2

Hash Your Data

Generate a SHA-256 hash of the data or document you want to timestamp. This hash acts as a unique fingerprint — if even one character in the original data changes, the hash will be completely different.

Step 3

Submit the Hash to Tierion

Send the hash to Tierion’s API. The platform aggregates your hash with others into a Merkle tree structure, which allows many hashes to be anchored in a single blockchain transaction efficiently.

Step 4

Receive Your Chainpoint Proof

After anchoring is complete (which may take from minutes to a couple of hours depending on blockchain confirmation times), retrieve your Chainpoint proof — a JSON document containing all the information needed to verify your timestamp.

Step 5

Store the Proof Alongside Your Data

Save the Chainpoint proof in your records system alongside the original data. The proof is self-contained and portable, so it can be stored in databases, document management systems, or attached to the records it verifies.

Step 6

Verify Proofs When Needed

Use Tierion’s verification tools or any Chainpoint-compatible verifier to check a proof’s validity. Verification confirms that the data hash was anchored to the blockchain at the claimed time, providing independent proof of data integrity.
