What you can automate with Bubble

Bubble is a no-code platform for building web applications. It provides a visual editor for designing user interfaces, a built-in database for storing application data, and a workflow builder for creating application logic — all without writing traditional code. Businesses use Bubble to build customer portals, internal tools, marketplaces, SaaS products, and other web applications that would otherwise require a development team. The n8n Bubble node lets you interact with Bubble applications programmatically — creating, reading, updating, and deleting records in your Bubble database through its Data API. This is useful for scenarios where data needs to flow between your Bubble app and other systems: syncing new signups to your CRM, pushing order data to an accounting platform, importing product catalogues from a supplier, or sending transactional emails triggered by Bubble events. Osher works with Australian businesses that use Bubble alongside other tools and need the data to stay in sync. If your Bubble app is a standalone island that requires manual data transfer to or from your other systems, our integration team can connect it to your CRM, accounting software, email platform, or any other tool in your stack through n8n workflows.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about how Bubble consultants can help with integration and implementation

n8n connects through Bubble's Data API using an API token. You enable the Data API in your Bubble app settings, generate an API token, and add it as a credential in n8n. You also specify your Bubble app name and environment (development or live). The n8n Bubble node then lets you perform CRUD operations on your app's data types.

How it works

Implementing Bubble

Step 1

Enable the Bubble Data API

In your Bubble app editor, go to Settings > API and enable the Data API. Select which data types should be accessible through the API. For each data type, choose the fields to expose and set appropriate access rules. Generate an API token that n8n will use for authentication.

Step 2

Configure n8n Bubble Credentials

In n8n, create a new Bubble credential. Enter your Bubble app name (from your app URL), the API token you generated, and select the environment (development or live). Test the credential by adding a Bubble node and listing records from one of your exposed data types.

Step 3

Set Up Event-Driven Triggers

In your Bubble app, use the API Connector plugin to send webhook calls to your n8n instance when key events happen. Create a Bubble workflow that triggers on user actions (signup, form submit, purchase) and sends the relevant data to an n8n Webhook node URL as a JSON payload.

Step 4

Build Your Data Sync Workflow

Create an n8n workflow that receives events from Bubble and syncs data to your other systems. Map Bubble data fields to the corresponding fields in your CRM, accounting tool, or email platform. Handle data transformation as needed — for example, formatting dates, converting currencies, or splitting name fields.

Step 5

Test in Development Environment

Run your workflow against Bubble's development environment with test data. Create, update, and delete records to verify that data flows correctly in both directions. Check edge cases like empty fields, special characters, and large data sets. Switch to the live environment only after thorough testing.

Step 6

Monitor and Handle Errors

Set up error handling in your n8n workflow for common issues like API rate limits, authentication failures, and data validation errors. Add notifications (email or Slack) for failed workflow executions. Monitor the workflow during the first week of production to catch any issues with real-world data.
