A field app that works where there is no signal

A mobile app built for your field work: capture inspections, photos, dictated notes and site data with no reception, and sync it all back to the office the moment the phone finds a network. Built to replace the per-seat capture subscription you rent today. You own the result.

The problem

The field is where your data is born, and where apps go to die

Most field tools assume reception. Yours cannot. Basements, rural blocks, new estates with no towers yet. If capture fails out there, the data gets scribbled on paper and retyped at night, or lost.

We build offline-first. The app keeps its own database on the phone, so capture works with flight mode on. When a network appears, changes sync with safeguards that stop a stale device overwriting newer work, and photos upload on their own queue so a big day on site never blocks the data.

We built exactly this for an Australian inspections business, replacing a rented per-seat capture tool. Their inspectors dictate notes on the phone with on-device speech recognition, drop pins on offline satellite maps, and the office watches the day's data arrive while the crew is still driving home.

This is a module of our custom ERP platform, not a standalone product. Start with just this module and it already sits on the full platform, accounts, security, admin and API included, so the rest of the system can arrive stage by stage, whenever you are ready.

What you get

Built for the ute, not the demo

Offline first, properly

A real database on the device, not a cached web page. Capture, edit and review all work with zero reception, all day if needed.

Sync that cannot eat your data

Every record carries its own identity, so syncs are safe to retry and a device that has been offline for a week cannot resurrect deleted work.

Photos with a queue of their own

Compressed on the phone, tagged with GPS, uploaded in the background with retries. A hundred site photos never block the day's records.

Dictation without a phone bill

Speech-to-text runs on the device itself, so field notes get spoken, not typed, and there is no per-minute transcription fee.

Offline maps and markup

Satellite imagery downloads before you leave the office. Drop pins, annotate photos, mark up plans, all offline.

Device enrolment you control

A phone joins the fleet with a one-time code read over the phone, and a lost device is revoked on its own without touching anyone else.

The build this comes from

Automating Report Generation for Field Services

A consulting arborist in South Australia faced a manual report generation process that involved extensive cutting and pasting from Fulcrum into Word documents for four report types. Osher Digital implemented an automated workflow using webhooks, dynamic templating, and AI-assisted drafting, reducing manual efforts by over 80% and enabling the client to handle more jobs at higher prices.

AI native

Run it from Claude or ChatGPT

Every module ships on a platform with a built-in MCP server, which means AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT can securely read and operate your system with the same permissions as a staff member. Ask where a job is up to, get a client summary before a call, or have tomorrow's follow-ups drafted, from the chat window you already use.

FAQs

Field app questions, answered

Both, from one codebase. The app installs through the app stores or your device management, and updates ship to the whole fleet at once.
